Kris Kowalski
Director
Kris graduated from Warsaw University with degree of Master of Architecture and Engineering in 1982.
Migrated to Australia, sponsored by the Australian government with the scholarship from University of Queensland to do Doctor of Architecture study in design -1983.
Registered Architect since 1990.
In Australia, prior to establishing Kris Kowalski Architects, Kris worked for renowned international firms. In his roles as design Architect, he was engaged in high profile projects such as the proposed World Trade Centre in Brisbane, the Mater Private Hospital, the High Court of Australia, several commercial office towers, residential towers and hotels.
Kris is the sole director of Kris Kowalski Architects. He has over 35 years’ experience in all facets of the industry, from formulation of initial brief to contract administration. At the core of his process and philosophy is to achieve the successful translation of a design concept into meaningful and tangible reality. He brings to projects the knowledge of local building procurement methods and extensive experience in office and project management.
Kris Kowalski Architects’ strength comes from strong leadership. Kris is the driving force behind his team; motivating and managing the best outcome from the designers and technicians who make up Kris Kowalski Architects.

Santo Zumbo
Associate Director
Graduated March 1998 Brisbane, Queensland University of Technology
Bachelor of Architecture (Hons).
Registered Architect since 2000.
Santo is an Associate Director of Kris Kowalski Architects and he has been working in the industry for 31 years, 24 of these years with Kris Kowalski Architects. He brings to the projects, knowledge of local building procurement methods, construction documentation and experience in office and project management.
Santo has been recognised throughout the industry for his diligence, construction documentation and working drawings excellence as well as his knowledge of building law, building materials and constructability issues. Whilst with Kris Kowalski Architects, Santo has been the leading Project Architect responsible for construction documentation on all major projects.
Santo is Kris Kowalski Architects’ documentation supervising associate in charge of delivering documents for building approval, tender and construction.

Architect Technician Diploma
Katia has 30 years of industry experience, including university teaching and training architects in the use of computer aided software. Before joining our office, Katia worked with prominent architectural firms in Brisbane and Switzerland. Katia’s work experience and her BIM expertise provides invaluable support to our staff and projects. Her project history includes being a key documentation member on projects such as the Brisbane Supreme Court building, the King George Square redevelopment, and the Robina Town Centre extension.
Katia has 30 years of industry experience, including university teaching and training architects in the use of computer aided software.
